Printing and Sending Documents

Every outward-facing document in Fast2Task (quotes, sales orders, purchase orders, work orders, invoices, credits, packing slips) can be generated as a PDF to print, email or share.

Printing and sending

From a document, choose Print to generate the PDF, or use the send options:

  • Email: send the PDF to the contact’s email address
  • Share: hand the PDF to your device’s share options (messaging apps, cloud drives and so on), which is handy on phones and tablets

Documents track whether they’ve been sent and printed, so the rest of the team can see at a glance what’s gone out. Shipping paperwork (packing slips and shipping documents) prints from the shipment itself; see Dispatch, Shipments and Invoicing.

Templates

Each document type has a built-in default layout, with your logo; click the logo area on a document to select it.

Want a different look? The PDF template builder (under configuration) lets you design custom templates: page size and margins, header and footer, and the body layout, with live access to the document’s fields.

Per-client templates

A client can have their own default template for a document type. When you generate that document for the client, their template is used automatically, which is useful for customers who require their own paperwork layout, or different branding across divisions.

A note on stale PDFs

The PDF reflects the document at the moment it’s generated. If you spot outdated content in a PDF straight after editing, regenerate it; if it persists, reload the app and generate again.
