Reports Guide

The Reports section collects the cross-document views of your business. This guide is organised by the question you’re asking, so you can jump straight to the right report.

The big picture

Business Dashboard: key business metrics and trends in one place, for monitoring the overall health of the business.

Sales

  • Sales by Product: sales order line history by product over a date range. Which products are actually selling, and when?
  • Sales Orders: an overview of sales orders with SO number, customer PO, order and required dates, line count, amount, creator and status. What’s on the order book?
  • Sales Price Variance: the difference between the expected sales order price and the price finally invoiced on the matching invoice line. Where did we invoice differently than we quoted or ordered?
  • DOTIF Report: Delivery On Time In Full, the percentage of customer orders delivered on time and complete. Are we keeping our delivery promises?

Production

  • Work Orders: an overview of work orders with dates, customer, linked PO, items produced, quantities and status. What’s in production?
  • Work Order Cost vs Sell: expected and actual cost against expected and actual sell (from linked sales orders) per work order, with margins. Are our jobs actually profitable?
  • Work Order Scheduling: forward-schedules incomplete work order steps against the equipment they require, respecting business hours and finite capacity, and shows estimated start and finish dates. When will each job realistically be done? There’s also a Gantt-style scheduling view under work order actions for a visual timeline of work orders against equipment.

Inventory

  • Stock Inventory: a configurable listing of products with description, cost, sell price, margin, quantity on hand and supplier. What do we have, and what’s it worth?

Purchasing

  • Purchase Price Variance: the difference between the expected purchase order price and the final price charged on the matching supplier invoice line. Which suppliers are charging more than they quoted?

People

  • Timesheet Summary Report: an overview of employee time tracking and attendance.
  • Productivity Report: insights into workforce efficiency and performance.

Tips

  • Most reports take a date range and filters; start broad, then narrow.
  • The variance reports are most useful little-and-often: checked monthly, price creep is a conversation with a supplier; checked yearly, it’s a margin surprise.
  • For one-off questions, remember resource lists themselves are powerful: columns, filters and taxonomy filters on any list can answer a lot without a report. See Taxonomies.
